Manage discount rules

Edit, enable or disable, reprioritize, translate, and delete your automatic discount rules.

Once a rule exists, you manage it from the Marketing → Discount Rules table. Each row shows the rule's name, type, filters, conditions, status, and priority. The Filters cell is live on every type, a Shipping Discount included: what it shows is what the rule actually requires in the cart, and an empty cell means the rule applies to every cart.

Edit a rule

Open a rule's ⋯ → Edit in Form to reopen the Create Discount Rule form in edit mode, where you can change its filters, conditions, discount config, customer display, usage limits, or validity dates.

Everything on a saved rule is editable and saves in place, including its Type.

Changing a rule's Type switches the rule off

The Type cell in the rules table is an editable dropdown, so click it and pick another type. But the discount settings you saved belong to the old type, so Brainerce disables the rule the moment you change it, and tells you: "Rule type changed. Rule has been disabled. Update the discount config before re-enabling."

To finish the switch:

  1. Change the Type.
  2. Reopen the rule (⋯ → Edit in Form) and fill in the new type's Discount Config: a Buy X Get Y rule needs Buy Qty / Get Qty / Get Discount %, a Volume rule needs tiers, and so on. The old type's settings are not carried over.
  3. Set Status back to Active.

If the promotion is live, create a new rule instead. Changing the type takes the running promotion down the instant you click, and it stays down until you have re-entered the discount settings, and customers in the meantime see no discount and no badge.

Enable or disable a rule

A rule only applies while it's enabled. Toggle it two ways:

  • Click the Status cell on the rule's row, or
  • Open ⋯ → Enable / Disable.

Disabling keeps the rule and all its settings, so use it to pause a promotion you'll run again, instead of deleting and rebuilding it. You can also filter the list by Enabled / Disabled to see what's live at a glance.

Set priority

When several rules could apply to the same cart, Priority decides the order they run in, and lower numbers run first. Set it in the rule's Basic Info, and see exactly how rules and coupons combine in Stacking & priority.

Translate a rule

On a multi-language store, open ⋯ → Translate to AI-translate the rule's customer-facing text (the banner, product badge, and cart-nudge) into your other store languages.

Delete a rule

Open ⋯ → Delete, or select several rules and choose Delete in bulk, then confirm. Deleting is immediate and can't be undone, so if you might run the promotion again, disable it instead.
